Head Coach: Nicole Lonetree Brovold
Coach Nicole is back for her 12th year with the Wildcats. This is her twenty-second year coaching and she’s excited for another year at Eagan. Coach Nicole started her dance career at the age of four and continued to dance at a local dance studio throughout high school. She was a four year member of the Eagan Dance Team and was a captain her senior year. Nicole continued to teach dance after high school. She began coaching in college and instantly knew she wanted a career in coaching.
Nicole graduated from the University of Minnesota with her BA in Sociology and American Indian Studies. She continued on to Hamline University to earn her teaching license and her MAT. Outside of winter dance team, Nicole is the head fall dance team coach at South Saint Paul HS and an American Indian Studies Consultant. Nicole loves spending time with her family. She likes to travel, take her kiddos on adventures, read, shop, watch football and hockey and dance at powwows.
Varsity Assistant Coach: Bridget Karnick
Coach Bridget is back for her tenth year with the Wildcats. This is her 12th years coaching and she’s excited for another year. She danced for the Academy of Holy Angels Starliners. She was apart of many State Qualifying and State Finalist teams. She was on the choreography committee for three years and a captain her senior year. She attended Loras College and studied sports science with a minor in coaching. She danced for two years for Loras and then transitioned to coaching and teaching at local dance studio & teams in the Dubuque area and around Iowa and Illinois.
She works for Sun Country Airlines as a flight attendant and is usually flying someplace fun. Coach Bridget and her husband Matt love to travel and hike. They have a son, Declan and three furbabies, a dog Loki, two cats Milo and Oliver.
Varsity Assistant Coach: Sheila Trzynka
Coach Sheila is excited to be joining the Wildcats dance team for her third season. This is her fourth year of coaching and she is so excited to be a part of the Wildcats again this year. Coach Sheila danced with both Just For Kix and St. Cloud School of Dance before becoming a four year member of the St. Cloud Tech Dance Team. She was a choreographer and captain her senior year winning the team their first state championship. Sheila also danced briefly with the St. Cloud State University Dance Team.
Sheila graduated from St. Cloud State University with a BS in Elementary Education and a minor in Coaching. In addition to coaching, Sheila works as a teacher in district. She loves spending time with her family; husband Darren, and sons Sam and Carter. Sheila also enjoys traveling, scrapbooking, doing yoga, and reading.
Technique Coach/Assistant Coach: Mia Massaro
Coach Mia is excited to continue working with EDT for her third year as a technique coach. Coach Mia has been dancing since she was three, at a local studio. She was a four-year member and two-year captain of the Eagan Dance Team under coach Nicole and Bridget. After high school Mia taught summer dance camps with Just for Kix while continuing to dance with Gustavus Dance Company. She is currently a member of 8:20Dance Company.
Coach Mia attended Gustavus Adolphus College where she studied Psychological Science and Dance. Mia is currently a student in the Doctorate of Occupational Therapy program at St. Catherine’s University. When Mia isn’t studying she enjoys hiking, running, drinking coffee, and game nights with friends!
JV-Head Coach: Whitney Mason
Coach Whitney is excited to be joining the Wildcats dance team for her first season. Coach Whitney started her dance career at the age of two and continued dancing through college. She was a four year member of the Albert Lea Dance Team and a captain/choreographer her senior year. In college, Coach Whitney danced for the Augustana College Dance Team along with the Sioux Falls Storm Lightening Girls. After college she began teaching and coaching and knew she wanted to keep dance a part of her life.
Coach Whitney attended Augustana College (now University) where she studied Psychology. In addition to coaching, Whitney works at Ecolab along with teaching at Turning Pointe Dance Studio. Whitney loves spending time with her husband and son. She also enjoys traveling, shopping, drinking coffee, sewing, and going for walks.
Assistant Coach: Mckenna Schares
Coach McKenna is excited to be joining the Wildcats dance team. She is originally from the state of Iowa and recently moved to Minnesota after graduation.
McKenna began dancing at a young age and has loved it ever since. She was a member of the Kennedy Varsity Dance Team during high school and was a captain her senior year. She continued her dance career in college and danced with the University of Northern Iowa for four years and was a 2-year captain her junior and senior year. McKenna graduated from UNI with a masters degree and is now a speech-language pathologist. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outside and being active.
Assistant Coach: Gabrielle (Gabby) Dominique
Gabby is thrilled to be joining the Eagan DT family! A South Minneapolis native, she graduated from St. Olaf College in 2017 where she earned bachelor’s degrees in Dance & Theatre. Since graduating, she has had the privilege of working as both a performer and teaching artist. Her recent performance credits include: Guthrie Theater, Ordway Center, Minnesota Opera, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, and Children’s Theatre Company. Some of her favorite high school memories bring her back to her days as a Varsity Starliner at Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield, where she met and danced with Coach Bridget! Gabby cannot wait to get back to her roots and start the 2021-2022 season… 5, 6, 7, 8!
Assistant Coach: Reilly Norton
Once a wildcat always a wildcat! Reilly is thrilled to be joining EDT this upcoming season. Reilly has been dancing competitively since the age of 3 at a local studio. She was on the dance team here all four years under Coach Nicole and Coach Bridget. She was a two year captain as well on EDT .
For college, she studied at NDSU (Go Bison!) where she studied Criminal Justice and Psychology. After graduating early, she decided she wanted to become a pilot so she attended ATP Flight School to help get her qualifications as well as flight instruct to 1500 hours. She is now employed with Endeavor Air as a First Officer. In her free time, she LOVES coffee, cooking, traveling, and being outside.
